Dr B. Van Den Eynde received GlaxoSmithKline prize

Since its establishment in 1958, the GlaxoSmithKline prize is awarded
every three years to two Belgian researchers, one French-speaking and
one Dutch-speaking, who have made important contributions in the fields
of human medicine or pharmaceutical sciences. The prize, which is
awarded under the auspices of the two Royal Academies of Belgium, is one
of the most important ones granted by a private corporation. Dr. Van den
Eynde (Brussels Branch) receives the Francophone prize for the period
2004-2006 for his group's discovery of a brand new mechanism for
processing of antigenic peptides that are recognized by cytolytic T
cells, as well as for the discovery of a frequent mechanism by which
tumor cells resist immune rejection.
